Bucatini is a red wine companion brand for Anders-Lane’s Ceviche. Like Ceviche, it is directed at entry-level wine buyers. The design objective is pairing pasta with red wine. Given this focus, my alternatives were narrowed – I needed to find a compelling pasta visual.
Universal Specialties in British Columbia had already proven themselves with the Ceviche package. They launched into Bucatini and delivered another high quality execution of the design. This time the design had even more pop because of the black background inherent in the red wine/claret bottle.
The Stelvin-Amcor screw capsule was also executed perfectly and added an excellent complement to the package. I never cease to be amazed by the level of reproduction they can place on a small tin cylinder.
The Bucatini brand was recently updated and released by Philip Zorn and Janima Wines in Morgan Hill, California.
