Ceviche is a Sauvignon Blanc brand I created for Anders-Lane Artisan Wines in Napa, California. The objective was to capture entry-level wine drinkers by visually associating the wine with seafood. For me, that narrowed down the possibilities. This design was going to end up with a fish or maybe an entire school of them.
About the same time I was starting to see a few striking silk-screen packages. I got in touch with Universal Specialties in British Columbia, Canada. They were creating new techniques that substantially raised the quality bar. With their capabilities in mind I designed my school of fish and my clients, Brent Shortridge and Philip Zorn, approved it on the first presentation.
With Universal Specialties’ expertise and many proof runs, they nailed the execution. The complex screw cap was the final accent. The package has won awards and still looks good on the shelf.
The brand was recently updated and released by Philip Zorn, Janima Wines in Morgan Hill, California.
