Stags’ Leap Winery

My long association with Pam Hunter Public Relations and Carl Doumani was a lot of fun. One of the most engaging projects was the year-long commemoration of Stags’ Leap Winery’s centennial.

The first task was to find an event theme graphic, something that was fun and compelling that would be memorable for an entire year. It started as an idea that I scribbled on a napkin over lunch with Pam Hunter. The idea was simple; show a stag with a huge rack of antlers. Nested in the antlers would be bottles of Stags’ Leap wine bottles.

I called my friend, collaborator and illustrator, Tom Hennessy. He took my scribbles and turned them into a gem. This image appeared on invitations, press folios, ads, sales kits, posters, wine labels . . . even t-shirts.

One guest’s response said it all, “When we received your invitation to the final gala event, we instantly knew we had been invited to something special.”
